Al Hodys, JD, CFP®, RICP®

Financial Advisor

Al provides comprehensive wealth management and financial planning services to individuals and their families.  Al’s focus is on family wealth and estate planning, retirement planning, portfolio construction, and investment planning and advice.

Al came to Rightirement Wealth Partners following a career providing legal counsel and strategic advice to individual and corporate clients for over 30 years. Al served as the General Counsel to NES Associates, a consulting firm serving the US Department of Defense and related agencies, until its acquisition by General Dynamics in 2018. For his work at NES Associates and prior employers in the defense sector, Al was issued a Top Secret Security Clearance in 2001. Prior to his work in the defense industry, Al worked in Manhattan counseling clients of his own general legal practice and prior to that worked at several private practice law firms.

Al received his law degree from St. John’s University School of Law, and he has been licensed to practice law in the State of New York since 1989.  He is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®)[1] and a Retirement Income Certified Professional (RICP®)[2]. He graduated with honors from Tufts University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree majoring in Political Science.  

Al is committed to helping others. He is a past president of the Board of Education for the Rye Neck Union Free School District, having been elected by the community to serve three three year terms as a Trustee on that Board. He continues to volunteer on the District’s Audit Committee. Al is a Certified Counselor of Domestic Violence in the State of Connecticut and he is a volunteer with the YWCA of Greenwich, CT for its Domestic Abuse Service.  He also gives his time as a member of the Bonnie Briar Country Club Long Range Planning Committee. Al is a member of the Westchester County Bar Association and its Trusts and Estates Section, the Estate Planning Council of Westchester County, and the Financial Planning Association—Greater Hudson Valley Chapter based in White Plains.   

Al lives in Mamaroneck with his wife, Debbie, and their two children, Cole and Julia.  Cole attends Northeastern University and Julia attends Tufts University.  Al enjoys golf, tennis, playing his guitar, and spending time with his friends and family.
